re:   UNESCO vote on non-UN member state

November 09, 2015

Dear Hon. Stéphane Dion:

I understand, and applauded the previous week, that the new Trudeau government stated it would listen to Canada's ambassadors.  I stated in my local newspaper’s comment section that the media should do the same.  I am not sure if you are aware of Canada's ambassador to Yugoslavia, Albania and Bulgaria in the 1990s, Mr. James Bissett, but I assure you he speaks of abiding by the law, and described many times how misery occurred because of violating international law in Yugoslavia.  Today's UNESCO vote regarding the internal Albanian government within Serbia's province of Kosovo was illegal and politicizing, without a doubt.  Canada decided to cast a vote that violated international law, since Kosovo is not a UN member state.

I ask you, "was this vote the initiative of the new Trudeau government?  Does the new government plan on abiding by international law, and correcting international wrong doings of the past?"
